Matthew specialises in the physics, electronics and engineering sectors of Intellectual Property.
Before entering the patent profession, Matthew graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first-class master’s degree in Physics. Following this, Matthew undertook a PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge. Matthew’s PhD project was in quantum optical materials and involved investigating quantum phenomena within novel semiconductor devices made from two-dimensional materials.
Matthew joined Secerna as a Trainee Patent Attorney in August 2023.
