The United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MoJ Uzbekistan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU signifies a commitment to further develop bilateral cooperation on intellectual property (IP) matters.
Both UKIPO and MoJ Uzbekistan recognize the significant role IP plays in strengthening the competitiveness of enterprises and countries, while also promoting economic and social development.
This MoU serves as a formal framework to facilitate future collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan's existing IP systems.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Adam Williams, Chief Executive of UKIPO, and Mr. Muzraf Ikramov, Deputy Minister of Justice for Uzbekistan. The agreement takes effect upon signing and will remain in effect for three years.
