Graduate Trainee Patent Attorney – Life Sciences

Location: York or Newcastle

Disciplines Recruited From: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology or a related subject.

Start Date: Late 2024

We are looking to recruit a trainee patent attorney to join the Life Sciences team in the firm’s York or Newcastle office.

As a trainee patent attorney at Secerna you can expect to work closely with the Partners and Senior Attorneys at the firm on a broad range of matters including original patent drafting and amendment. In addition, you will gain invaluable experience assisting on the contentious and advisory work the firm has a reputation for.

Candidates must have a proven excellent academic record, with at least a first or upper second class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology or a related subject.

Excellent written and oral communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also essential.

The position is ideally suited to a recent graduate or post-graduate and for a start in Autumn/Winter 2024.
